Dunne’s Argument

Turkey is Islamic, but it is also European. Rome and Constantinople(Istanbul) where the two centres of Europe as the Roman Empire split in two. Europeans, who fear the influence of an Islamic culture or have historic bias' from conflicts with the Ottoman Empire will realise that integrating with Turkey is a far surperior option to rejecting them and allowing the influence of fundamentalists on a largely secular state. But it will take time and the latest wave of enlargement will have to be absorbed first and be seen to succeed

While I agree that Turkey is already a model Islamic democracy, I do not think that the European Union will see fit to admit it so early. I think the population of Europe as a whole will have to be twenty to thirty percent Muslim, with the world conspicuously failing to end, before the European political class will be willing to admit any Muslim country. That will probably take longer than eleven years.

There wont be any european union as we know now!

Political, Economical & Social tensions between european union states would get to a critical level where a possible breakup of superstate might occur. I think rich countries & poor countries ally & form unions against each other.

Right now there are lots of arguments,Complaints amongst people in rich states like UK,Germany,SPAIN and others concerning people coming for work from eastern europe to these countries for work. Due to running out of natural & energy resources, Economic & ultimately Unemployment situation would get to a higher level in these countries until there would be huge tension & possibly a racial war in these countries which can lead to possible breakup of peace in Europe which ultimately should lead to breakup of European Economic zone.
